At Studio Guiu, we believe that architecture and landscape design have the power to inspire change.
Guided by ecological integrity and social connection principles, our projects embrace the natural world and the communities they serve.
Each design is a thoughtful collaboration with nature, integrating sustainability at every stage to create spaces that endure, inspire, and connect.
Helena Guiu Cervera is an architect, landscape architect and urban designer with a decade of experience shaping public spaces that foster ecological resilience, social inclusion, and urban well-being. With a background in architecture, scenography, and graphic design, she brings a multidisciplinary perspective to landscape design, blending technical precision with artistic sensitivity.
Originally from Lleida, Spain, and based in Stockholm, Sweden, Helena’s professional journey spans strategic urban planning, public space regeneration, and ecological restoration. Her expertise is reinforced by a Master’s in Landscape Architecture for Sustainable Urbanisation at SLU, Sweden, where she explored heat-resilient green-blue infrastructure as a response to urban climate challenges—an approach deeply embedded in her design philosophy.
Helena’s approach is shaped by hands-on experience in public space design, from conceptual development to execution. As a landscape architect at LAND Arkitektur in Stockholm, she led the design of urban elements in various projects, including Sjödalsparken, nominated to Landmärket 2024 (winner to be announced 03/04), the Åkeshov Arboretum, a nominated public landscape, and the Life City Bicycle Pavilion in Stockholm. She designed furniture with exceptional attention to sustainability and a profound understanding of the genius loci. Her work emphasizes integrating biodiversity, designing inclusive public spaces, and enhancing urban resilience.
In municipal planning, her role as a physical planning intern at Skellefteå Kommun involved strategic urban design, focusing on flood mitigation, soil pollution remediation, and social inclusion. As a freelance architect and landscape consultant, she collaborates with municipalities and private individuals to develop urban and residential projects in Spain and Sweden, focusing on flexible solutions that address existing needs across various scales and contexts.
